Former Earthsuit and Mutemath drummer Darren King has come forward as a victim of former Newsboys singer Michael Tait’s alleged unwanted advances, describing an incident where Tait touched him inappropriately during a dinner conversation. King, who is no longer a Christian, revealed in a recent video uploaded to X that he was the person named “Abraham” in the Roys Report (TRR) and The Guardian investigations into Tait. In June, both outlets found that Tait had been engaged in sexual misconduct and drug abuse throughout his music career, including three men who accused the former DC Talk star of grooming and sexually assaulting them between 2004 and 2014.
Tait subsequently posted a confession on June 10, confirming that he had lived a “double life” in light of the claims made against him, while also disputing “certain details” of the accusations laid against him.
In King’s video, the former drummer said how his story is “by far the least severe of anyone’s mentioned,” CBN News reported.
