Jessica Tarlov took a moment on a recent episode of Fox News’ “The Five” to share how she thinks President Donald Trump could approach peace in the Middle East, but her proposal nearly got her laughed off the set by fellow co-hosts.
Tarlov, whose liberal point of view is tolerated as token opposition on the popular evening show, sparked controversy when she asserted that Trump should give up on the longtime dream of Palestinians for a two-state solution and pursue something more radical instead.
“The two-state solution we’ve all hoped for is still just a dream,” Tarlov began. “It’s something many have tried to achieve and failed at. Not just in the U.S. — Tony Blair devoted his career to it and couldn’t make it happen.”
The problem, she said, is that surrounding Arab nations “are not willing to absorb” Palestinians, leaving them at the mercy of living in the Israel-controlled Gaza.
“If you’re truly a humanitarian, then take those two million people to the U.S., the country you lead, and resettle them here. You can’t just force them onto other nations,” she said.
