HBO has announced plans to cast a Black actor as Severus Snape in its upcoming Harry Potter series adaptation, in yet another brazen move by the radical left to rewrite and ruin beloved classics.
The iconic character, immortalized by the late Alan Rickman in the original films, is described in J.K. Rowling’s books in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as “a thin man with sallow skin, a large hooked nose, and greasy, shoulder-length black hair.”
“Sallow” is an old-fashioned term that describes a pale, yellowish, or sickly complexion. It often implies someone looks unwell, gaunt, or drawn, rather than naturally dark-skinned. In literature — especially British — it’s often used to describe characters with light skin that appears unhealthy.
Now, HBO appears more concerned with scoring diversity points than preserving the legacy of the character or staying true to the original author’s vision.
