The Republican National Committee (RNC) said it’s time for GOP voters to decide the party’s presidential nominee, signaling it won’t host any further primary debates for the 2024 presidential election.
“We have held four successful debates across the country with the most conservative partners in the history of a Republican primary,” the RNC’s Committee on Presidential Debates said, according to a statement obtained by Florida’s Voice.
“We have no RNC debates scheduled in January and any debates currently scheduled are not affiliated with the RNC,” the statement continued.
“It is now time for Republican primary voters to decide who will be our next President and candidates are free to use any forum or format to communicate to voters as they see fit,” it added.
The statement indicates next month’s scheduled debates on CNN and ABC aren’t affiliated with the RNC.
Multiple debates have been scheduled by ABC and CNN for next month. Those debates are taking place independently from the RNC.
