Chaos erupted on the set of “The View” when the co-hosts got into a heated debate about a study that claimed it is never acceptable for a parent to yell at their children.
The panel members began by discussing the findings published in the Journal of Child Abuse & Neglect that said hollering at children is no different than physically abusing them.
“I’m sorry, you have to yell at your kids from time to time. Sometimes they just don’t get it. So you have to get a little bit louder,” Goldberg, a mother of one, explained. “That’s not to say you say, ‘You dumb ugly punk.’ That’s not what we’re doing. We’re saying, ‘If you take one more step in this house…’”
But co-host Joy Behar disagreed. “You can say the nicest thing and yell, and you can say the meanest thing and whisper. So it’s not the volume that counts. It’s what you’re saying,” she said.
Co-host Sunny Hostin also agreed that hollering isn’t necessary.
