On Tuesday, Joe Biden’s son Hunter offered to publicly testify before the House of Representatives, as Republican-led committees continue investigating his former business deals as part of an ongoing impeachment inquiry against his father.
As the Washington Free Beacon reports, Hunter’s offer comes in response to a subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee, requesting him to testify behind closed-doors on December 13th. In his response, Hunter’s lawyer denounced the investigation as “a fishing expedition” and an “empty investigation.”
“We have seen you use closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public,” said attorney Abbe Lowell in a letter to Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.). “We therefore propose opening the door.” Neither Chairman Comer nor any of the other representatives on the committee have commented yet on whether or not they support the notion of Hunter Biden testifying publicly.
