At the White House Tribal Nations Summit, Joe Biden lied to the crowd with a personal anecdote from his old high school days, involving a tough choice between playing lacrosse and football.
Biden, in his characteristic storytelling manner, claimed that during his time at Archmere Academy, he was a formidable “6 foot, 158-pound flanker back” in football and was a runner-up in the state scoring championship.
“I wanted to play lacrosse, but you had to choose between lacrosse and football,” Biden claimed. “You couldn’t play both in the same season… I was the runner up of state scoring championships. Don’t laugh man.”
Biden joked, “As they say in football, I got soft hands.”
However, the tale was quickly called out on social media where users pointed out a discrepancy. Archmere Academy, where Biden attended high school, didn’t have a boy’s lacrosse team until 1993, a full 32 years after Biden graduated.
Just another bizarre lie with zero basis in fact.
