‘Looks like he shot his dog’

A panelist on Megyn Kelly’s special SiriusXM show following the fourth Republican primary debate mocked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in a hot mic moment late Wednesday.

“Look at that face. He looks like he shot his dog,” an unidentified male voice said over the top of a clip of DeSantis preparing to answer a question from Kelly about his poll numbers lagging way behind GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

Kelly’s post-debate spin room panel included NewsNation politics editor Chris Stirewalt, The Fifth Column podcast host Michael Moynihan and RealClearPolitics co-founder and publisher Tom Bevan — none of whom immediately copped to the remark.

Kelly, who co-moderated the debate with Elizabeth Vargas and Eliana Johnson, was also joined by Emily Jashinsky of The Federalist.

Some DeSantis critics have mocked the governor for his purported awkward nature and lack of people skills, arguing he doesn’t have the charisma to be president.
