A massive number of dead fish have been discovered washing up on the shores of northern Japan. Captured in a viral video circulating on social media platforms including X (Twitter), the footage showcases thousands of fish lining the coastal areas, raising concerns among locals and environmentalists alike.
In a similar incident in Japan, frozen sardines were observed washing ashore on the beaches of three towns in Hokkaido in January, their bodies spanning several kilometers along the Sea of Okhotsk coast, Japan Times reported.
This phenomenon occurred last year and also five years ago near the city of Wakkanai, Hokkaido, following a substantial snowstorm.
Their specific cause of death remains a mystery.
