The company behind The Chosen announced Sunday a partnership with Prime Video that will make it the exclusive third-party streaming home for the Bible-based series and grant it a 90-day exclusivity window after each theatrical release. The partnership will allow Prime Video to stream new episodes of The Chosen for 90 days, exclusively, before they are available for free on the official The Chosen app.
As a result of the deal, the company behind The Chosen is receiving higher licensing fees from Prime Video.
“This is good news,” creator and director Dallas Jenkins said before adding, “This is actually extraordinary news.”
The partnership, Jenkins said, will allow The Chosen to reach a bigger audience. He announced the partnership during a livestream.
“Their license fees are going to help us reach a billion [people] much, much faster,” he said.
The license fees, Jenkins added, will “supercharge” the series’ marketing and translation efforts.
