Former President Donald Trump is shoring up his support among the religious right, nowhere more so than in Iowa where a group of evangelists recently joined him to pray for his victory over President Joe Biden.
On Saturday, the former President rallied the faithful during a campaign stop in Cedar Rapids where he ripped Biden as “the destroyer of American democracy” who spoiled a prosperous economy he inherited. Following his speech, a small crowd led by a local pastor gathered around Trump, stretching their arms out in prayer.
“The gates of Hell will not prevail against us. We speak this over [Trump]. We pray for protection over him, I pray for protection over his family. Lord God, all the weapons formed against him will not prosper,” prayed the pastor to a collective hallelujah of “yes!” from the audience.
“Lord they will come to nothing, and the traps that have been laid against him. Lord, the people who laid the traps will be caught in their own traps. So Father we thank You now for this great favor. I pray that President Trump will trust in You… and acknowledge You in all his ways and You will direct his path,” he continued.
