Two of America’s most recognizable musical acts announced Monday they are performing at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration events with the hope of helping unify the country. Carrie Underwood and the Village People each said they will be singing Monday on Inauguration Day, joining country star Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio, among others.

Underwood is an eight-time Grammy winner whose voice has become a hallmark of modern music. She is scheduled to sing America the Beautiful during the swearing-in ceremony.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said, according to the Associated Press. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
The Village People are scheduled to perform twice this weekend — first at a Sunday rally and the next day at an inaugural ball, the AP said. The group acknowledged in a statement that its members did not support Trump during November.
