Tara Palmeri sat down with New Hampshire’s typically ‘never-Trump’ Governor Chris Sununu, who has made no mystery of his open disdain for former President Donald J. Trump, and asked if it “comes down to Trump or Biden,” who will he choose? Sununu replied, “I’m a Republican.”
The fallout from the interview with Puck has been spreading across the media since early Tuesday. NH Journal noted, that Sununu reiterated his stance that while New Hampshire is in play for the 2024 GOP Primary, he believes “It’s more likely than not that Trump is the nominee,” though he added, “it’s not an absolute.”
The Governor suggested that a consolidation of Trump’s detractors would be necessary to dislodge Trump from his lofty perch, though this seems unlikely given Trump’s current polling lead, according to Morning Consult as of 11/28, a near unassailable lead of 50 points.
