A BRIT couple died when they were swept away by flash floods in Majorca as the boyfriend was carried nearly two miles by the water.
Alexander Johnson, 32, was tragically found dead yesterday bringing to an end the desperate search after his partner Sarah Jane Thompson, 26, was found earlier this week.
Guardia Civil officials estimate that Mr Johnson was carried nearly two miles by the flood waters.
And they have issued a stark warning to tourists about the dangers of hiking in bad weather.
Local media reports seven people have lost their lives in torrents and ravines since 2017.
Rescuers using a helicopter managed to find Mr Johnson’s body in a flooded canyon in the Torrent de Pareis in Sa Calobra, reports the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
He was found after the water levels in the flooded area had dropped significantly on Friday.
The couple had been caught in a storm on Tuesday after water levels rapidly rose in the river gorge.
