Ron Jeremy, the former porn star accused of sexually assaulting multiple women, will be released from jail to a “private residence” as his health worsens, nearly a year after he was formally declared incompetent to stand trial.
A California judge granted the 70-year-old’s request to be placed in a private residence to receive “round the clock medical care” after “no medical facility will take him,” according to an email obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
The Friday ruling comes after Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Paul Thompson shared the email with Jeremy’s victims, explaining that his “medical condition has deteriorated to the point that he is essentially bedridden.”
Thompson expressed dismay over the final stage of the case to Jeremy’s accusers, saying the ruling is “beyond” his control in the email, according to the outlet.
“I feel very badly that this is where we are, but it is beyond our control. His mental and physical condition deteriorated rapidly, and we are left with no other options,” he wrote. “I’m sorry that we couldn’t get complete justice for you in court.”
