THE desperate hunt for a missing Brit who plunged 100ft off a cruise ship is ongoing as rescuers are holding out hope he may still be found alive.
The youngster toppled overboard the Explorer of the Seas ship into the Adriatic Sea on Friday morning and hasn’t been seen since.
The search operation has now been extended for 12 more hours due to the temperature of the sea being warm, The Sun understands.
Local authorities explained how the water is 24 degrees meaning survival in these conditions is “more than 12 hours.”
They said today: “The man fell into the sea from a height of more than 30 meters, maybe there was an injury during the fall.
“Since the temperature of the sea is 24 degrees, this allows us to extend the search to at least 12 hours and more.
“Survival in these conditions is more than 12 hours , and the search takes twice as long, at least 24 hours.”
Croatian officials confirmed “a young Briton left missing” from the cruiser Explorer of the Seas at 4.30 AM local time on Friday.
