Shortly after Joe Biden announced his historic withdrawal from the 2024 election, Vice President Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) attended an online fundraiser with numerous prominent “green” activists and pledged to support far-left environmental proposals as president.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, the July 25th event raised a mere $100,000 for Harris’ campaign as she was still struggling to shore up support to become the presumptive nominee. Speakers at the event praised Harris for supporting the Green New Deal and for vowing to ban all fracking, positions that she has since attempted to walk back since becoming the nominee.
One of the co-hosts of the event was Leah Stokes, a consultant with the environmental firm Rewiring America. She started the call by pointing out that Harris previously established an “environmental crimes unit” as District Attorney of San Francisco, and then oversaw a nationwide electric school bus program as vice president.
