It was puppy love at first sight.
A Good Samaritan in Texas discovered an orphaned litter of “tiny” pups no more than 10 days old before taking them to the Fort Bend County Animal Services shelter, where volunteers determined that they “immediate bottle feeding and care.”
Around the same time, another local found a stray Great Pyrenees, named Nova, who had clearly just delivered a litter herself because she was “full of milk.”
Nova’s babies were nowhere to be found, but the local just happened to see an urgent announcement from Fort Bend County Animal Services online, which begged for help caring for the young puppies.
The quick-thinking citizens immediately brought the stray mama to the shelter to potentially nurse the abandoned litter of pups.
Despite the teeny puppies not being Nova’s biological offspring, they bonded almost immediately.
“Nova was so happy to see the puppies,” shelter director Rene Vasquez told People. “She took to them right away, and they were very happy to have a mama and food!”
