President Joe Biden traveled less than two miles from the White House to The Showroom in Washington, D.C., to see demonstrations of science and technology.
The president went around displays in the event area, covering everything from heat pumps to prosthetic arms. According to the White House, the prosthetic arm’s technology originated at DARPA, a Pentagon organization established to promote innovation in cutting-edge technologies for military applications in support of our country’s security.
The president spoke with a representative of Nautilus Live, a business founded in 2008 by Dr. Robert Ballard, a marine geologist and oceanographer who, according to the company’s website, made the discovery of the Titanic wreck almost forty years ago. The Ocean Exploration Trust, a non-profit organization, runs Nautilus Live, which looks for innovative approaches to pursuing and carrying out ocean exploration.
But one of the main takeaways from the event wasn’t any of the technology; it was Biden wandering off stage and the camera feed getting cut.
