Former President Donald Trump is currently leading the 2024 GOP presidential field by quite a bit, according to the polls, but he still is a long way from officially snagging the party’s nomination.
But that hasn’t stopped the 45th president from considering potential running mate candidates, and he threw out yet another unconventional name this week: Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson.
During an interview on “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show,” the hosts asked Trump if he’d consider Carlson.
“Oh, wow,” Trump said, going on to recount the massive viewership his interview with Carlson generated on the X platform in August, where he appeared instead of the first GOP primary debate.
“I like Tucker a lot, I guess I would,” he said, according to The Daily Beast.
“I think I’d say I would because he’s got great common sense. You know, when they say that you guys are conservative, or I’m conservative, it’s not that we’re conservative, we have common sense,” he added.
